The External Studies Division manages Carlingford University’s distance learning programs. It was established to make Carlingford University degrees accessible to students who, for one reason or another, cannot attend classroom based lectures. Studying through the External Studies Division (i.e. Correspondence Courses and Online Delivery Courses), provides an attractive option for those with financial constraints, commitments to work or family, or lack of local access to higher education.

The same Carlingford University Academic Committee that design the course syllabi, selects the text and study guides, sets examination papers for classroom based delivery, also oversees the External Studies courses. All External studies materials, including the examination are reviewed and approved by the Academic Committee before being approved for use by Carlingford University’s External Studies Division. As all degrees issued by Carlingford University are the same regardless of how earned, no concession in quality or academic rigor is made for the more difficult study circumstances of External Students.
