Carlingford University has its origin in Carlingford, Ireland. However, due to expansion and accessibility, the University’s Board of Regents elected to establish its central location in London, England. In 2001, the University’s Board of Regents, in order to meet the demand realized in the Pacific Rim, established a University presence in Sydney, Australia. In 2002, following the adaptation of the University’s correspondence study courses to meet the ever growing needs of incarcerated people in the United States of America, the University’s Board of Regents elected to establish an official University presence in Mobile, Alabama.
Historically, Carlingford University has an un-rivaled record in setting precedents – in awarding degrees without religious tests, in promoting teaching and advanced delivery methods, in admitting women to degrees, and appointing women professors.
The University has of course expanded and changed considerably since it was founded. However, it has always maintained the principles and focus of its founders: To provide excellence in education to all, irrespective of race, creed, social status, or political beliefs with the focus on delivering convenient, meaningful information to working students. |
